The current administration signed the OBBBA into law on July 4, 2025. The OBBBA makes permanent most of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act tax law. Most high-profile change provisions begin with the 2025 or 2026 tax years. Even though the OBBBA is now law, Treasury and the IRS are still translating the statute into forms, regs and guidance for implementation.
